They ALL do that (Così fan tutte) is an adaptation of the Mozart/Da Ponte opera developed for performance at Madame X bar in New York City’s West Village. Immersively staged, this take on the classic Così brings audience members into the heart of the action as they watch the opera’s events unfold right in front of them.
They ALL do that features punchy English dialogue written by Conway McGrath and Gabe Muenzer in place of the traditional recitativo (sung Italian text) that marries the spirit of the opera (and much of Da Ponte’s crude humor) with modern language and aesthetics.
What many have lovingly referred to as COSÌ IN A BAR premiered May 29-31, 2026, and we have hopes to return to Madame X with the show this fall…
